Brenda
Brischetto, M.D.
Washington UniversityBrenda obtained her B.A. in biology from Washington University in
St.Louis, MO. She graduated with honors and was a Student Representative in Health Care Reform Discussions with Hillary Clinton in 1994.
In 1993, she worked as a volunteer medical assistant in Mexico, assisting with a physician's international outreach program and providing medical
care for indigent patients. Brenda is fluent in Spanish and was part of an intensive language program in Guatemala in 1993. Her interests include
aerobics instruction, dancing, singing, guitar, camping and travel. Brenda now works at Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center in Portland, Oregon.

Jeffrey
Geller, M.D.
Tufts University School of Medicine
Jeff was born, raised, and schooled in Massachusetts. In 1995, he spent six
weeks at GLFHC in a family medicine rotation. Jeff obtained his B.S. in electrical
engineering with honors from the University of Massachusetts. He was associated with
the Jamaica Plain Community Center in South Boston before his residency and worked as a
teacher, tutor and volunteer for the Adult Education Program. Because Jeff believes
there are many ways to look at things, he is writing a book called, Our Lady of the
Narcalipse, Church of Latter Day Naps. In the last few years, he has bicycled across
the country - twice. He also likes basketball, volleyball, bicycling, writing,
hiking, and camping. As well as being a faculty member in our residency, Jeff is the Director
of our HIP fellowship, as well as the Director of Integrative Medicine and Group Therapies. |
Lisa
Gordon, M.D.
University of Vermont College of Medicine
Lisa has a B.A. in biology from the Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut,
and an MPH from the University of Hawaii School of Public Health. She worked as a
volunteer at the Vermont Women's Health Center and as a coordinator for the Feminist
Resource Network and Support Group. Lisa enjoys hiking, bicycling, cross-country
skiing, music and reading science fiction. Lisa is now in private practice in Arlington, MA. |

Karine
Maalouf-Kaleshian, M.D.
Brown University
Karine came to this country from Egypt at age two and sees herself as having a
unique identity because she belongs to two different cultures. She has a B.A. in
ecology from Hampshire College in Amherst, where she conducted research on "Grass
Grazer Interactions on Mixed Grass Prairie" for her senior thesis. During
medical school, Karine established a science education program for children at an urban
housing project. She was also a Peace Corp volunteer in the Central African Republic
and Senegal, where she was able to use her undergraduate training in ecology to help
farmers facing the problem of desertification. Karine speaks French and Spanish. Karine is
now an acute care doctor at Lawrence General Hospital. |

Joel
Gorn, M.D.
University of Rochester
Joel obtained his B.A. in Spanish literature and biology from the University of
Wisconsin and studied Filosofia y Letras in the University of Madrid in Spain. In
1995, he spent six weeks at GLFHC in a family medicine rotation. He was part of the
African Medical and Research Foundation for a year, where he had the opportunity to work
as a fellowship student in Kenya, Tanzania and Somalia. He worked as a volunteer for
the Catholic Relief Missions in Banica, Dominican Republic, providing primary health care
and promoting health education and family planning services. Joel is fluent in
Spanish, Portuguese and has some knowledge of Swahili. He enjoys scuba diving, ski
jumping, mountain climbing plus jazz composition and performance. Joel is in private practice
in Lawrence, MA. |

Kirsten
Meisinger, M.D.
Case Western Reserve University
Kirsten graduated with a B.A. in human biology from Brown University, where she
received the National Scholar's Award for academic and extracurricular excellence.
During the third trimester of her sophomore year, she studied in Paris. As a
National Medical Student Representative, she was able to create two student seats on the
board and was the first student to be elected to the board of directors. Kirsten
says she was inspired by the time she volunteered as a women's health counselor at the
Cleveland Free Medical Clinic. She speaks French and Spanish. She enjoys Wado
Ryu karate, travel and outdoor sports. Kristen is now at Cambridge Health Alliance, in Cambridge, MA. |

Agueda
Hernandez, M.D.
Brown University
Aggie was born in Havana, Cuba. She and her family moved to New York City
when she was an infant then to Miami when she was eight. Aggie earned a B.A. in
Human Biology from Brown University where she was a National Scholar for four years.
She served as a mentor for minority high school students interested in careers in
science or medicine. She also participated in the development and delivery of a
seminar in Human Sexuality and Sexual Decision Making for high school students. She
enjoys working with underprivileged youth, reading and collecting literature by authors of
color. Aggie now practices in Miami FL. |

Denise Mills, M.D.
Albany Medical College
Denise earned her B.A. in Spanish from the College of the Holy Cross, where she
also completed a concentration in international studies and was on the Dean's List for
five semesters. Because she had completed family medicine electives and research at
GLFHC, she came to the residency well know to staff and faculty. According to
Denise, her previous experiences in Lawrence helped her gain a better understanding of the
art of medicine. Her interests include dancing, volleyball, basketball,
walking and roller-skating. Denise is in private practice in Chelmsford, MA. |
